Tuesday 25th June - Picture Yourself at Global Gathering 2009

It is almost that very time of the year when thousands of wide eyed, brightly dressed, fun people flock down Britains motorways with  their glow sticks and sleeping bags in tow and descend onto the historic, peaceful town of Stratford Upon Avon.  But what is it that is getting everybody so excited?

Global Gathering is amongst the premier dance festivals in the World today, being celebrated annually by thousands of music lovers travelling from the furthest corners of the planet.  If you are into dance music in its variety of forms then this is an experience you won't want to miss out on.

From the minute you reach your first traffic jam heading towards the festival, you are surrounded by excited, smiling faces and the distant echoes of heavy base lines drifting amongst the cars.  From this moment on, to when you are leaving the festival, a ‘carnival’ atmosphere takes hold of everyone.  At the gate you find yourself pressed amongst a lively crowd sporting sunglasses, furry boots and angel wings, whilst an ad hoc drumming group beat on the festival gates until the moment they are eventually opened letting everyone spill into complex.

Once inside you are bounced around willingly between the tents and stages.  From the get go, the festival atmosphere is electric, being charged continuously by the epic variations of music.  From house to techno, electro to drum and base, there is loads on offer when it comes to experiencing new sounds, it is a real ear opener.

Global success is also down to its strict music policy.  Only the biggest, and best names from each genre of electronic music are down.  This is truly one of those festivals where the line up only tickles on the unknown artist presenting you with some of the most well known names in the dance world.  The line up this year includes The Prodigy, Orbital, The Scratch Perverts, Andy C, Mary Ann Hobbs, DJ Yoda and many more performing on over eight stages.

People are the key to the weekend.  There is always something going on in the festival and you are never short of something or someone to watch.  The past has proved that the atmosphere at Global is one to contend with any other festival in the world.
